This residential roofing project involved a complete shingle roof replacement to renew the home’s roofing system and improve overall protection. After the existing materials were removed, the roof was prepared with new underlayment before the new asphalt shingles were installed across the full roof surface.
An important part of this project was correcting and improving the home’s ventilation. New proper roof vents were installed, including an additional vent to help improve airflow through the attic. During the work, two existing vents that had previously been installed for the bathroom and kitchen exhaust were found to be unsuitable. These were replaced with the correct exhaust vents and properly connected to help direct moisture and air safely outside the home.
The new shingles were carefully installed around each penetration, with the vent flashing integrated into the roofing system to help maintain a watertight finish. The completed roof ventilation setup works together with the new shingles to support better airflow and long-term roof performance.
During the installation, a minor issue around the chimney was also identified and brought to the homeowner’s attention before it had the opportunity to develop into a larger problem. Progress photos were provided throughout the project, allowing the homeowner to follow the work as it was completed. The result is a fully reshingled roof with improved ventilation, correctly installed exhaust vents and a clean, durable finish.
